Hi, I’m Tamasin but friends call me Tam. I live in the lovely suburb of Ellerslie in Auckland, New Zealand.
My mum was a very talented artist, and wanted to be a graphic designer, but it was tougher in her day, especially for women. In her teens she won a bike for her lifelike drawing of a Colgate toothpaste box… I only wish I could draw as perfectly as her!
I have followed in her footsteps, choosing graphic design as my career for life. Funny story – I was actually enrolled to study Law at University, but after a surprise Scholarship mark in Design at high school (lets just say my teacher didn’t exactly give me confidence that I was any good), I made the last minute decision to follow my heart/what I felt came naturally to me and become a graphic designer.
I’m an all-rounder, an ‘ideas’ person, and I’m happy to roll up my sleeves and get into any job, whether big or small. I’m not fussy about the type of clients I work with – I believe any business’ design can be beautiful, and my job is to make every piece of work the best it can be.
I’ve been fortunate to work for some of NZ’s top agencies and companies, including Air New Zealand and Curious Design. I gained valuable experience in London and the Gold Coast, which exposed me to new brands and different ways of working, and took my design capabilities to the next level. Most recently I was a designer for the awesome kiwi online mattress brand Winkl, before taking a break to enjoy being a first time mum to my daughter Lucy.
